Bureau Veritas Displays its Testing, Inspection and Social Audit Capabilities at UK Toy Fair 2006
United Kingdom -- 30 November 2005 -- Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (BVCPS), a global leader in consumer product testing, inspections and auditing services, will be demonstrating its local and global testing capabilities for toy and juvenile products at the UK Toy Fair 2006. The company will be exhibiting on booth SC9, 25th-28th January 2006 at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre, London.
BVCPS routinely delivers testing services to determine the compliance of children's products with European Directives, statutory safety requirements and global industry standards. In addition to the Toys Safety Directive and its' associated harmonised standards, including EN 71, the recent introduction of the revised European General Product Safety Directive has increased the legal requirements on the toy and juvenile product sector. The Directive particularly highlights nursery products, amongst others, that now have specific harmonised standards relating to their safety.
Ensuring that consumer products are deemed "safe" by relevant regulatory bodies is essential, but never more so than when the products are specifically designed for use by children. Evaluation of over half a million toy and juvenile products annually provides BVCPS with a broad perspective of the hazards associated with a wide range of children's products. Therefore, BVCPS can provide the industry with peace of mind that their products comply with all regulatory requirements, via the strategic use of quality assurance services throughout the entire development cycle.
Present on the BVCPS stand throughout the show will be experts from their Altrincham, Cheshire-based UK Notified Body and from the Group's laboratories overseas. They will be available to offer advice on all quality assurance issues.
Visitors will also be able to discuss BVCPS's client-based e-business system, BVcpnet, on booth SC9. BVcpnet allows customers working with both BVCPS's Far East testing facilities and their other locations around the world, desktop access to vital information, such as real-time sample monitoring, technical reports and specification manuals. This innovative service enables businesses to more effectively manage the quality assurance stage of the process and, for safety related testing, provides support for their 'Due Diligence' systems.
