Certification by Chinese Authorities

CCC certification can only be granted by the Chinese Authorities. In China, nine certification bodies are accredited by CNCA (Chinese Certification and Accreditation Administration) to grant CCC certification. Products applying for CCC certification must conform to Chinese standards (GB standards). The main characteristics of this procedure are as follows:

  • Tests must be carried out at accredited Chinese laboratories; tests can be reduced on presentation of a valid CB certificate (less than 3 years old) and by supplying a sample product.
  • Miscellaneous technical documentation is required.
  • Based on the documentation received, the Chinese certification body reviews the application/ reports and, assuming all in order, grants certification and CCC marking.
  • Factory inspection at the applicant’s expense is required.
  • Follow-up inspections are required every 12 to 18 months.
