California Proposition 65 Q1 2021 60 Day Notice Summary

This Bureau Veritas report provides a  summary of the California Proposition 65 60-Day Notices in Q1 2021. This report includes the enforcement trends and the most targeted products and chemicals. 

Enforcement Trends:

• The highest number of notices by product category was for food products again this quarter (39% of notices). Within the food product notices, 137 were for lead and 117 for acrylamide.  In addition, there were several notices for cadmium, mercury, arsenic, furan and other chemicals in food products. 

• Bags/kits/cases/totes/backpacks/pouches accounted for 17% of the 60 Day notices.

• 48% of the 60 Day notices were for phthalates: 318 for DEHP, 62 for DINP, 12 for DIDP, 3 for DBP and 8 for more than one phthalate.  The notices covered a wide range of products, including, but not limited to tool grips and various types of bags.
